1. What are cookies?

The website owned by J. García Carrión, S.A. (hereinafter, the “website” or “site”) uses cookies and/or similar technologies that store and retrieve information while you browse. 2. What types of cookies exist?

According to ownership

Type Description
First-party cookies Sent to the user’s terminal from equipment or a domain managed by the site editor itself, which provides the service requested by the user.
Third-party cookies Sent to the user’s terminal from equipment or a domain not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

  

According to purpose

Type Description / Examples
Technical cookies Enable navigation through a website, platform or app and use of the different options or services available (e.g., session identification, traffic control, communication of data).
Preference / personalisation cookies Remember your settings so you don’t have to reconfigure the service each time you visit (e.g., volume settings of video/audio players, video-transfer rates compatible with your browser).
Geo-location cookies Determine the country you are in when requesting a service. These cookies are anonymous and used solely to tailor content to your location.
Registration cookies Generated after a user has registered or logged in and are used to: 1) keep the user identified across sessions; 2) verify whether the user is authorised to access certain services (e.g., entering a competition).
Analytics / measurement cookies Each time a user visits the site, a third-party tool generates an analytic cookie on the user’s device to: – anonymously identify the browser/device and estimate visitor numbers and trends; – anonymously identify the most visited content; – know whether a visitor is new or returning. These cookies are used solely for statistical purposes to optimise user experience.
Behavioural-advertising cookies Expand information about the ads shown to each anonymous user—for example, storing display duration/frequency, interaction data or browsing patterns—to build an advertising-interest profile and thus show ads aligned with user interests.
Third-party advertising cookies In addition to advertising managed directly by the site, advertisers may serve ads through third-party “AdServers”. These third parties can store cookies sent by the site and access the data stored in them.

4. How can you disable cookies?

You can normally stop your browser from accepting cookies altogether, or stop it accepting cookies from a particular service.

5. Data transfers to third countries.

Under Articles 15–22 GDPR, you may exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure (“right to be forgotten”), objection, portability, restriction of processing and objection to automated decisions (including profiling).

7. Retention periods.

In compliance with Article 13 (2)(a) GDPR, cookies are installed for a specific period. To consult retention periods, please refer to the “Expiry” column in section 3 “Which cookies do we use?”.

8. Changes to the Cookies Policy.

J. García Carrión, S.A. may amend this Cookies Policy to comply with legislative or regulatory requirements or to adapt it to guidelines issued by European or national supervisory authorities (in our case, the Spanish Data Protection Agency). Users are therefore advised to revisit it periodically.

When significant changes are made, users will be informed either via the website or by e-mail (for registered users).
